TURKISH SUPER LEAGUE WEEKEND PREWIEW:WEEK 21

IT IS WHOLE NEW BALL GAME........

Turkish "SPOR TOTO" Super League League Leaders Trabzonspor waisted all the credits that they have!

Now, after they even the points with Bursaspor on top, have to show that they are still the leaders.

But,losing 7 points in the last three matches are not showing that they are on right track!

Coach Senol Günes admitted that it was not a good start, last wekend.....

On the other hand, Bursaspor and Fenerbahce is making big strides and winning their matches..

That is why ,I think, the race on top and battle at the bottom, will take a new directions this weekend,,

The 21th weekend matches will start on Saturday and will finish on Monday....

While Trabzonspr travels to Sivas on Saturday, Bursa will travel to short distance ,to neighboring Eskisehir on Sunday and on Monday Fenerbahce will host fourth place Kayserispor at home.

American Player Jozy Altidore most likely will see action this weekend in Eskisehir,,,,

He will be huge addition to Bursa with Kenny Miller on top............

So, at the end of the 21th weeekend, we just might see a new team on top if Trabzonspor continue to struggle...

The team that they are visting Sivasspor is despreate for points......

They are in danger zone and have only 16 points,,,

The other teams, Konya and Buca who is with 15 points will face each other in Buca, Izmir on Saturday in the early match.

If Bucaspor or Konya ends up with three points from thsi match, it will put more presure on Sivasspor vs Trabzonspor match, that will play later on Saturday.

Like I said, the race in the Turkish Super league, is just started again.....

TURKISH SUPER LEAGUE SUNDAY RECAP

IT IS DEAD EVEN ON TOP......

I don't like to say "I told you so" but this is exactly what happened with Trabzonspor!

I have said, Trabzonspor could not afford to lose point or points at home....
in the last two home, matches Trabzonspor lost 4 points and lost the away match against Fenerbahce.

The best team of the Turkish Super League in the first half used up all the credits...

the points between Bursa are all gone!

And Fenerbahce is only two points behind both of them...

Trabzonspor still on top with 44 points with Bursaspor who is on second ...

Perhaps the best team of the week was Fenerbahce who won their match in a way match with big score.

I think, while Trabzonspor loss the team composure in the last three weeks in the league Fenerbahce and than Bursa with Kenny Miller made a huge impact in the last three matches..

That is why the large gap between Trabzon, Bursa and Fenerbahce gone!

It is too bad, Besiktas with their stars could not take this advantage....

While the top of the league is start to boil , its is same at the bottom of the barrel!

Galatasaray held off a second-half fightback from Eskisehirspor to earn a 4-2 win and move ahead

of their opponents in the table.

It looked comfortable for the hosts when Lorik Cana, Bogdan Stancu and Harry Kewell gave them a

3-0 half-time lead but two goals in three minutes from Burhan Eser and Umit Karan hauled

Eskisehirspor within a point before Milan Baros, on as a substitute for Kewell, settled Gala's nerves.

Genclerbirligi beat Bucaspor 1-0 to ease their relegation fears, Oktay Delibalta scoring the only goal.

Gaziantepspor beat 10-man Konyaspor 2-0 thanks to strikes from Ivelin Popov and substitute Olcan Adin. The visitors had earlier lost recent signing Kamil Zayatte after the former Hull defender collected two yellow cards.

Standings......

1 Trabzonspor 20 13 5 2 41-13 44
2 Bursaspor 20 13 5 2 36-13 44
3 Fenerbahce 20 13 3 4 46-22 42

TWO GOALS IN THREE MATCHES FOR KENNY MILLER WITH BURSA

TWO GOALS IN THREE MATCHES FOR KENNY MILLER WITH BURSA......
BY EMRE KARATAS

Bursaspor became champions the previous year for the first time in their history but it has become obvious that their chance is more this year than the last, especially with the brilliant signings of Miller and Altidore. Miller scored twice in three matches already.

Altidore has not worn the jersey yet but the fans are now hoping a lot from both Miller and Altidore.

In addition this year Bursaspor has gained a different team identity which is defined as a team now knows defencing totally by several soccer authorities in Turkey.

Having one match more Bursaspor is now one point ahead of Trabzonspor at the first place of the table.

Many have believed Bursaspor cannot become champions again this year but it is now a fact that they have the biggest chance.

BURSA GOES ON TOP , FENERBAHCE, KAYSERI WIN AND BESIKTAS HELD

In the 20th weekend only match on Friday Bursaspor won at home agaisnt Sivasspor with Kenny Miller last minute goal and move to the top of the league until Sunday.

American player, Jozy Altidore did not suit up for this match.

His work papers were not ready!

Instead he watched the match with his mom from the stands...

Kenny Miller mot only scored the winning goal but took his team to first place with this goal/

Sivasspor had many opportunity in the match but they could not cash it in....

On Saturday, While Fenerbahce and Kayserispor win on top of the league Besiktas stall at home !

Besiktas with a draw against at home in the early match against Karabuk , missed another big chance to move up to the top!

On the other hand Fenrbahce and Kayserispor won ....

This means Besiktas is getting away from the race....

After 20th weekend, Besiktas is at 32 points while Bursaspor the first place team have 44 points!

Fenerbahce and Kayserispor kept up the pressure on Bursaspor and Trabzonspor at the top of the Super League with winning thier match on Saturday.

Fenerbahce fell behind when hosts Manisaspor took a 54th-minute lead through Carlos Kahe, but a penalty from Alex eight minutes later made it 1-1, and Mamadou Niang put Fenerbahce ahead after 73 minutes.

Substitute Issiar Dia added Fenerbahce's third goal in the 89th minute, a minute after coming off the bench. Fenerbahce remain third in the table, two points behind leaders Bursaspor and one behind Trabzonspor, who have a game in hand on the teams either side of them.

Back in fourth place are Kayserispor, 2-1 winners at home against Ankaragucu today. Ankaragucu took a 38th-minute lead thanks to Murat Duruer but Kayserispor drew level with 12 minutes remaining through substitute Emir Kujovic and Marcelo Zalayeta won it in stoppage time, with Ugur Ucar also sent off late on for the visitors.

Besiktas, back in fifth place, came from behind to draw 1-1 with Karabukspor, an own goal from Armand Deumi in the 59th minute cancelling out the opener from Emmanuel Emenike which arrived four minutes earlier.

Istanbul Buyuksehir are sixth, three points behind Besiktas, after a 3-1 victory away to Kasimpasa. Ersen Martin nudged Kasimpasa 1-0 ahead after ten minutes, but Samuel Holmen brought the visitors level in the 25th minute and Gokhan Unal made it 2-1 in their favour after 51 minutes. Ali Guzeldal added a further goal after 69 minutes.

SUNDAY......

Perhaps the most important match of the day will be in Trabzon...

Trabzonspor will host Antalayaspor...

I is a must win match for Trabzon ,if they want to get back the top spot on the league..

The gap has been closed by Bursa and Fenerbahce .....

Like I said before Trabzonspor can not afford to lose matches at home anymore!

On the other hand , Antalya is not easy team to beat....

Sunday’s other games include Galatasaray will be home agisnt Eskisehirspor, Genclerbirligi against Bucaspor and Konyaspor will host Gaziantepspor.

With the big signings of Scotch Kenny Miller and American Jozy Altidore to the last Turkish League champions Bursaspor and as called ‘Portugal gang’ by Turkish media Simao Sabrosa, Almeida, Manuel Fernandez who joined Besiktas, Turkish soccer is now observed by the world soccer media.

Besides, the addition of the two other well-known players one of whom is the former Real Madrid star Guti and the other Quaresma who joined Besiktas at the beginning of the season really excites not only Turkish soccer media but also the world soccer media.

Now the authorities are looking forward to seeing the new possible SPOR TOTO SUPER LEAGUE winner as the recent additions are trying to do their bests.

TURKISH SUPER LEAGUE WEEK 19: RECAP

As I predicted in my recent article on 19th weekend preview , Trabzonspor could not handle the pressure and lost their match against Fenerbahce in Istanbul.

First place team Trabzonspor after saying good- bye to Turkish Cup, is feeling the pressure in the league too!

Fenerahce also ended Trabzonspor's 14-game unbeaten streak .....

First half's best team in The Turkish Super League Trabzonspor looked really bad in the last two league matches and in a cup match against Besiktas, which they lost!

Fenerbahce winning the match, help them self's and Bursaspor. in this race!

Starting 20th week in the Turkish Super League we will see a brand new race on top...

The Gap between Trabzonspor and Bursaspor is down to only two points!

With Fenerbahce is four points,,,,,,

Star studded Besiktas, after losing to Istanbul BuyukSehir Belediyespor, they missed a really good chance this past weekend to go up in the standings!

Galatasaray after losing to Bursaspor . are once again under dark clouds!

This has to be the worst year for Galatasaray team in their club history...

It is the 20th week in the league and they are in 10th place with only 26 points!

The title chase for them is over in my opinion...

The fight at the bottom of the league is getting hotter to...

Bucaspor after winning big at home this past weekend , they look like they want to move out of the danger zone!

So, at the end of the 19th weekend, Fenerbahce, Bursaspor ad Kayserispor wwere the winners and shakers in the league...

With Transfer deadline, Bursaspor got a good addition to their team in the last minute of the transfer day !

American National team player Jozy Altidore will play for Bursaspor until end of this season in Turkey.

With him and Kenny Miller along with Sercan Yildirim and Turgay Bahadir ,Bursaspor will have a scoring powers to chose from!

I believe Altidore could help a lot for Bursaspor, scoring goals,,,,,,

He is fast and very powerful,,,,,,

Most likely he will get a playing time this Friday, when Bursspor host Sivasspor at home in the 20th week opening match....

If Bursaspor wins this match on Friday they could capture the first place in Turkish Super League from Trabzonspor,at least until Sunday!

That's when TRabzonspor plays their match against Antalyaspor in Trabzon.

Last weekend's most ugly indecent was Amkaragucu manager Unit Ozat's disgrace act on the pitch!

He punched and kick the fan that ran in to the field..

How low can you get!

Results from 19th weekend.......
