Galatasaray Ready For Hamburg In Germany

Despite losing Portugese International defender Fernando Meira to Zenith team in this week and injuries, Galatasaray still thinks that they could beat Hamburg in Germany in the UEFA Cup last-16 first-leg match on Thursday.

Since the rookie coach Bulent Korkmaz took over the coaching dutties with a little luck, they have won their last three matches in the Turkish Turkcell Super League and beat Bordeaux team in the second leg match.

With the help of Galatasaray and Turkish football fans, who lives in Hamburg and around Germany Galatasaray will feel like they are at home...

The fans in the stadium will be a plus for Galatasaray.

On the other hand,

Hamburg coach Martin Jol admits his side must create a comfortable cushion for themselves .

"You definitely need to be one or two goals ahead if you want to survive over there," he said.

"We have got to be tight at the back and make the difference with a goal up front.

"We will have to push ourselves to the limit."

Hamburg team has a German Born Turkish player on their roster too.

His name is Tunay Torun, and he is only 19 years old and he says he would like to score against Galatasaray if he plays.

Galatasaray , will have so strengthen the defense in Germany ,in my opinion.

After selling Meira to Zenith for Cash, Galatasaray will have a trouble in the backfield ..

Servet Cetin being hurt and There is only one stopper on the team ...

That is Emre Asik, who is 36 years old...

If he get's hurt the player who replace him is only 18 years old Semih Kaya, who has not seeing action yet....

Look For Bulent Korkmaz to use Hakan Balta in the defense against Hamburg.

Striker Milan Baros is suspended for this match and Bulent Korkmaz will start with Shabani Nonda .

Harry Kewell is ready and will play in midfield alongside with Lincoln.

Galatasaray's game plan should include the second leg match.

They should be very conservative ..

Even a draw will be good for the second leg match in Hamburg.

Galatasaray's lucky charm, former captain of the team Bulent Korkmaz now coach of the team is all of sudden on top of the world with Galatasaray ..

Not bad, for a guy who was home watching the matches in his living room about twenty five days a go!...

The man, was not even welcome to the Galatasaray club facilities now leads the Galatasaray team against Hamburg team in the UEFA Cup..

The Russian Zenit Clubis in Istanbul talking with the Galatasaray Administration to secure Fernando Meira on their squad. In the end, the two clubs reached an agreement and Meira will now go to Zenit in exchange for six million Euros. Roberto Carlos Conducts Fenerbahce To Win

HEAT AND PRESSURE IS ON IN THE TURKISH TURKCELL SUPER LEAGUE..

Just think , only two weeks a go, Sivasspor was ahead of Fenerbahce seven points in the Turkish Turkcell Super League.

Since 21th week, Sivasspor only manage to get one point....

While Sivaspor and Trabzonspor went in slump mode the Istanbul's three big guns Fenerbahce, Galatasaray and Besiktas put on their dancing shoes...

Leagues top team Sivasspor ,had a bad week again this weekend..

At home they draw a though team from Ankara, Ankaraspor.1-1

They not only loss points their rookie coach Bulent Uygun lost his coolness on the sideline and started kicking the bench booth shield...

like that was not enough, after the match he went after the match officials...

It was a bazaar .......

Roberto Carlos lead Fenerbahce in a brand new Kadir Has stadium In Kayseri , against Kayserispor ...

On both both of the goals there was Roberto Carlos signature was on...

He assisted on both goals...

Semih Senturk and Alex De Souza scored for Fenerbahce.

At the end of the 23rd week in the Turkish Super League, the race on top and the bottom will get very hot...

The Gap on top is very close now...

Sivaspor could not show, that they were clutch team ,in my opinion...

Besiktas , Galatasaray and Fenerbahce after closing on Sivaspor and Trabzonspor will put up a big fight now...

Eleven weeks to go, We might see this going down to wire, in my opinion....

If the race stays tight like this, until last weekend....

We might witness very crucial last weekend in the Turkish Turkcell Super League..

Here is why....

In the last weekend, Galatasaray will host Sivasspor , Fenerbahce will travel to Trabzon and Besiktas wll travel to Denizlispor.

So, In ten weeks we will see tight race on top and also on the bottom of the league too.

Here are the scores from 23th week in the Turkcell Super League...

Galatasaray 2 - 1 Bursaspor

I.Belediyespor 0 - 2 Denizlispor
Gaziantepspor 1 - 1 Antalyaspor

Turkish Super League Saturday Wrap:TRABZONSPOR DOWN BESIKTAS UP

TRABZONSPOR DOWN BESIKTAS UP

As I mentioned in my preview article for Saturday matches, all the matches on Saturday was going to be tight matches.

SUPRISE....SUPRISE....

Well, What I predict in Trabzon , did happened....

Trabzonspor loss at home again against the team who is Fighting for their life in the league

As I said it before, actually the Trabzonians who plays for Konyaspor and coaches for Konyaspor beat Ersun Yanal's Trabzonspor team.

The young Konyaspor keeper Oguzhan had a huge match...

He made a lot of saves in this match.

Konyaspor, held Trabzonspor with a little luck until 84 minute of the match than scored the matches only goal by Roman Kratochvil in the 84th minute and won a very important three points in the 23th week.

With this win Konyaspor reached to 27 points in the league...

On the other hand Trabzonspor wen down...

Before this match, they were sharing the top spot with Sivasspor ...

This was a good Birthday gift for Konyaspor coach who will celebrate his 51th birtday on March 9th , Monday.

BESIKTAS MOVING UP....

Although Besiktas played away match, Besiktas find to beat the last place team Hacettepe in Ankara .

It was not easy though...

Coach Mustafa Denizli was sweating big time in the last minutes of the match in a cold night in Ankara..

After scoring two goals in the first twenty minutes of the match , Besiktas went in to relaxing mode....

But, at the end, they beat Hacettepe with 2-3 score.

Besiktas gooals came by M.E. Delgado,Mert Nobre and Bobo while Hacettepe answered with Patiyo Tampwe two goals.

This was back to back third win for Besiktas ..

And this was first, this season...

So, while Trabzonspor went down in the standing , Besiktas moved up in the standings.

With 45 points , Besiktas will go on top of the Trabzonspor and will wait for Sivasspor match On Sunday.

Sivasspor, Besiktas and Trabzonspor each has 45 points now and Sivasspor will play their match on Sunday.

Even if Sivaspor loses the match on Sunday against Ankaraspor at home , they will still be on top a draw and win will make Sivasspor the only top team at the end of the 23th week in the Turkish Super League.

Also on Saturday, Denizlispor surprised Istanbul B.B, and beat them in their own home with two goals

Under new coach Mesut Bakkal Denizlispor won four in a row in the league...

This loss put Istanbul B.B in serious trouble in the league..

Denizlispor's goals scored by Burak Akyildiz and Emil Rosenov Angelov .

With this win Denizlispor surpass Istanbul B.B, in the standing....

Denizlispor moved up to 11 Th place with 27 points while Istanbul B.B drop down to 14 Th place with 25 points.

Antalyaspor the team who is trying to get out from the fire zone was winning in away match until the last minute but, in the last minute home team Gaziantepspor score the equalizer and killed Antalyaspor's three point hopes...
Istanbul BB 0-2 Denizlispor

Turkish Super League Saturday Preview

CLUTCH TIME.............

As we get closer to the end of the season in the Turkish Turkcell Super League, every match and every weekend becomes very important to teams who are playing for the top spot and the teams trying to get out of the danger zone too.

So, This weekends, Saturday and Sunday matches are perfect examples ...

After Galatasaray won on Friday ,the other top teams like Sivasspor,Trabzonspor and Besiktas are feeling the pressure from Friday allready.............

Just think, on Saturday if Besiktas and Trabzonspor lose point or points ,the traffic on top will be really crucial...

In the early day time matches we have teams who are fighting for their life in the league who will take the stage first.

In Istanbul, Istanbul Buyuksehir Belediye will play against a team is desperate for points....

Istanbul B.B, also in need of points in the league...

In Gaziantepspor will host another team that is looking to get out from the fire zone Antalyaspor.

These two matches start in mid day local Turkish time...

The result out of these matches will effect the Saturday night another two matches which will be broadcast on LIG TV live......

THE OLD TRABZONSPOR(KONYASPOR) V THE NEW TRABZONSPOR..........

First, Turkcell Super Leagues one of the top teams Trabzonspor will face a desperate Konyaspor.Actually, The old TRabzonspor(KOnyaspor) will be against the Trabzonspor!.......

I say old Trabzonspor, because Konyaspor have at least four or five former Trabzonspor players and a former Trabzonspor coach Giray Bulak.......

Giray Bulak also was born in Trabzon on March 9th 1958.......

A win for Konyaspor will be the greatest gift for coach Giray Bulak,,,,,,,,,

Can they do it?...

Why not!....Denizlispor did it just a couple weeks ago.....

On the other hand, TRabzonspor and Ersun Yanal knows very well...

They have to win this clutch match...........

Lastly, the last match of the Saturday will be in Ankara...

Leagues last place team Hacettepe who fired their coach again, will face Besiktas.

Besiktas, has to win this match to recapture the third place from Galatasaray...

In the last three macthes Besiktas playing as a team...

And, coach Mustafa Denizli, finaly putting the pathes together ....

It will be better ,if he gives Holosko a chance again in the staring eleven...

But, Besiktas is on right track,so far, they should not have problem on Saturday in my opinion....

See you on Sunday Preview ,later on here again....

GALATASARAY MOVED UP TO THIRD PLACE

Galatasaray won their back to back second match in the Turkish Turkcell Super League after a coaching change at the helm.

Not to forget, they also beat Bordo team from France in the UEFA cup match too..

So, all of sudden things are looking goood in the Galatasaray side...

But, the play on the pitch today was not a good enaough, in my opinion....

Under, New rookie coach Bulent Korkmaz they are on good track for now before UEFA Cup match against German team Hamburg...

On Friday, Galatasaray moved up to third place in the Turkish Turkcell Super League courtesy of a 2-1 win over Bursaspor.

Galatasaray went ahead in the 10th minute of the match with Milan Baros goal than in the 31th minute Bursaspor's keeper Ivankov made a huge mistake and kick the ball to Aydin Yilmaz and the ball hit Baros and went in made a huge mistake and kick the ball to Milan Baros and the ball hit Aydin and went in and made it 2-0. .

Ibrahim Ozturk pulled one back for Bursaspor after the break but it was not enough to prevent Galatasaray moving to within two points of leaders Sivasspor and Trabzonspor, albeit having played one more game.
