Besiktas signs two-year deal with Aurelio

Besiktas has said it had signed a two-year contract with Real Betis player Mehmet Aurelio.

The club officials said in a regulatory filing on Wednesday that it had agreed with the 33 year-old naturalized Turkish midfielder for 750 thousand euros for a year plus 25 thousand euros for every match he plays.

Besiktas said it would not pay any additional charges to Real Betis for the annulment of Aurelio's contract with the Spanish team.

Aurelio on Wednesday joined with the team in Finland, where Besiktas was set to play a return game against HJK Helsinki in the play-off round of the UEFA Europa League.

Aurelio played for Trabzonspor between 2001 and 2003 and for Fenerbahce between 2003 and 2008.

He made his debut for Turkish national squad in August 2006 against Luxembourg. He was a regular for Fatih Terim's side during their Euro 2008 qualification campaign, starting 11 of the 12 games.
