FATIH TERIM TALKED TO THE MEDIA FOR A LAST TIME AS A NATIONAL COACH OF TURKEY!

At times very emotional at times very artistic coach of Turkey, faced the Turkish media for a last time as a coach of Turkish National team..

As we all know ,He called it quits after Belgium disaster match, when Turkey lost to Belgium.

After that match, he told the media that Armenia match will be his last match as a coach of Turkish National team.

That match, was show off for him, before the match and during the match!...

Before the match, we had never seen Mr. Terim this relax and smiley face, before....

During the match , after each goal was scored the players were rushed to him and huged him!

Even the guy who had bad fall out with him Halil Altintop went to him after he scored the goal!

Where was this spirit until, Armania match.....

Didn't Fatih Terim promised Turkish Soccer fans to go to South Africa after winning the first four matches....

Is anyone forgetting ,what he said?...

Well, those are all in the past time....

His crucial behavior on the side line , getting kicked out of the match, and much more, made Fatih Terim very controversial coach, in Turkey.

These were his week links......

But, Today He talked about his presence in the Turkish Football(soccer), today ...

Wheather we like him or not he has done good things at Turkish National team nad Galatasaray.

His most accomplishment came in when he was coaching Galatasaray and lastly with Turkish National team in 2008 Euro Tournament....finishing third place...

I have known Fatih Terim ever since he started coaching Turkish National Team...

I followed him when he came to United States and Canada...

So, I know a lot about him....

We know, He learned a great deal from Piontek, when he was working under him....

Today during the press conference he talked about why the Turkish National Team did not go the World Cup Tournament in South Africa and mainly him self....

Here are some quotes from Fatih Terim....

“I made mistakes, as anyone willing to make a revolution would,” he said. “Trying to take Turkey, which did not even have a place in the football world 15 years ago, somewhere, anyone would make mistakes. The biggest one was to raise expectations.”

*********************************************

“There are talented Turkish players raised in families living in Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, et cetera,” said Terim. “Foreigners can find talent in 5 million Turks in Europe, so we should find seven or eight times that if we are talking about a country with a 70 million population.”

************************************************

“I have my regrets and I have my ifs of course,” he said. “But I believe that the wrongs did not outnumber rights.”

Do you agree?...

Let me know and drop a line here , if you want.

  1. Fatih "Imperator" Terim is Türkiye's greatest coach. Period. It's extremely disappointing for me not to be able to see this team (and all its potential) in the World Cup, especially after all they achieved at Euro'2008. But that's life. And no one can really blame Fatih. Nor should they. He alone has elevated Turkish football and its standing around the world in the past 15 years. He led Türkiye to its first ever European Championship appearance in Euro'96 and while they failed to advance it was really the benchmark for Turkish football as the players grew and matured so that when Euro 2000 rolled around, while Mustapha Denizli was coach, you have to really see that this was the team Fatih built (even through Galatasaray). I don't think anyone should point fingers at Fatih Terim... rather they should thank him for what he has done (and hopefully what he will continue to do for the game). I hope who ever succeeds him (Senol?) will carry on and continue the good work and my hope is to see an even stronger Turkiye in Euro 2012.

  2. The Euros in 2008 made everybody talk about Turkey here in Scotland. A country with Turkey's population and some very big clubs should be competing at the top table of world football
