TRABZONSPOR GOES DOWN IN PORTUGAL AGAINST BENFICA! 2-0

Benfica won 2-0 over Trabzonspor on Wednesday in the first game of the third qualifying round of UEFA's Champions League.

Benfica's first goal was scored in the 71st minute. On a ball that the Trabzonspor defense had difficulties to deviate, Spaniard Nolito received the ball in the box and scored.

The second goal came in the 88th minute. Argentinian Nico Gaitan received the ball over the box line and with an arched kick scored the second goal.

Benfica started the game with only one Portuguese national in the team. The other players were five Argentinians, three Brazilians, one Spaniard and one Paraguayan. Having invested 24 million euros in acquisitions in the last two months, Benfica had to prove that the new players brought better quality.

The Portuguese team attacked more, had more ball control but faced difficulties to enter the opponent's box, while Trabzonspor had only one goal opportunity in the whole match.
