Very tight schedule in the Turkish Super League

First, over the weekend, there was a huge earthquake in Van,Turkey area, I am very sad to see people died in this earthquake .

It has been very tragic a couple of weeks for Turkey and Turkish people,,,

First it was Terrorists attacks by PKK terrorists organization now, earthquake....

Turkey and Turkish people will overcome this pain , I believe in that....

***********************************************************************

Now back to Turkish Super League........

7th week ended on Monday and week 8 will start on Wednesday and end on Thursday , and week 9th matches will played on Saturday Sunday and Monday.....

Get ready for a lot of matches in the next seven days!

Everything I said in my last article, happened in the week 7!

Except,leage leader, Fenerbahce....

The most disappointed score came form Fenerbahce when they lost two pints to last place team Samsunspor at home in front of their own fans!

Out of all the Istanbul teams Besiktas was the only team who earned win and three points...

Galatasaray, Fenerbahce and Istanbul Buyuksehir all lost points....

Galatasaray had a chance to even the points with Fenerbahce on Friday, but they were no show in Antalya! they were lucky to earn a point there...

When we looked back to week 7, we see Orduspor as most impressive team, and surprising team in the league this season...

As I predicted, they had no problem beating Ankaragucu in Ankara...

also, as I predicted Gaziantep won their first match of the season and earned their first three points...

As I mentioned in my last article on this blog, Karabuk beat a strong Buyuksehir team at home.

And Kayserispor with scoring six goal against Sivasspor showed they are coming back to normal form in the league....

Manisaspor beating Eskisehirspor in Eskisehir with two goals was the biggest surprise in the seventh week!

At the end of the week 7, Fenerbahce still on top with 17 points,Galatasaray on second with 14 points, Orduspor who is on third with same points(14), Buyuksehir is on fourth 134 and Besiktas on fifth with same points(13)...

Trabzonspor on sixth place with 12 points and Manisaspor on seventh place with 11 points...

Trabzonspor earning point in Bursa was also huge ...

Burak Yilmaz's PK goal gave them one points on the other hand Bursaspor lost the three points with a very bad back pass by their young captain Serdar Aziz to keeper Scott Carson, cost the PK , after Carson tripped Burak Yilmaz in the box!

It was the ninth league goal for Burak Yılmaz with TRabzonspor uniform this young season....

At the end of the seventh week, Ankaragucu is the only team who has not won a match in the league yet! they have only one point....

VERY BUSY SCHEDULE.................

Like I said before, week 8 and week 9 will be played in next 7 days.......

Week 8, matches will start on Wendsday and end on Thursday...

There will be 5 matches on Wendsday and four matches on Thursday .....

Perhaps, "the match of the week 8" will be the derby match between Besiktas and Fenerbahce..

On Thursday night in Istanbul Besiktas will host Fenerbahce ...

On Wendsday Galatasaray will play against Gaziantep at home . a win could put them in first place over Fenerbahce if they score two or more goals against Gazinatep, before Fenerbahce plays Besiktas on Thursday!

Also on Wendsday third place Orduspor could even the points with Fenerbahce if they beat Bursaspor in Ordu, Turkey...

So, before the week 9th starts on Saturday we could see a new league leader at the end of Thursday night!

Like I said, the biggest match of the week 8 , will be Besiktas vs Fnerbhace match...

I win for Besiktas will put them in top three , a win for Fenerbahce will stillthem on top of the league...

Looking at last two matches for Fenerbahce, they are in scoring drought!

And they are not playing well......

On the other hand, Besiktas is just like Fenerbahce too!

The only difference is they won their last match....

A strong Besiktas should have no problem beating Fenerbahce but, Fenerbahce will be more aggressive in this match after losing points at home against Sansunspor,,,,,

Turkish Super League : Week 7, Preview

Turkish Super League week 7, will take a start on Friday and end on Monday night...

In the week 6, Fenerbahce with winning in away match kept their form and won in Mersin.

Buyuksehir, Galatasaray, Orduspor, with winning, kept the pressure on top...

Besiktas losing against Kayserispor at home was the upset of the week 6!

As we start the 7th weekend ,Fenerbahce is the only team who did not lose a match in Turkish Super League!

7th week, will start with Antalya vs Galatasaray match on Friday and there will be three matches on Saturday, four on Sunday and one on Monday night....

On Friday, Antalya vs Galatasaray match will be action packed...

Antalya coming off a loss will give Galatasaray their moneys worth in this match....

One other thing, Fatih Terim, will face his former assistant coach at Turkish National team Mehmet Ozdilek for the first time in the league...

This match will be good to watch....

With a win Galatasaray could even the points with Fenerbahce on top!

But, it will not be easy ....

On Saturday, Trabzonspor and Istanbulspor will have a very rough away matches....

Trabzon will travel to Bursa nad Buyuksehir will be in Karabuk. Karabuk is hurting and desprete for points, Since Emenike left the team, they are not the Karabuk that we knew one time...

But, this match could be turning point for the at home...

On the other hand Trabzonspor in Bursa will face a strong Bursaspor....

Bursa after losing to Galatasaray last weekend, they need to win this match....

This match will be war of points...because with a win Bursaspor will go on top of Trabzonspor in the standing..

This is huge match for Bursaspor......

A draw or win for Trabzonspor will keep them in top four or five...

Another match between Eskisehir and Manisa will be a match for points too...

Manisa who is with 8 points and Eskisehir who is with 7 points will clash in Eskisehir, who ever wins the match will gain advantage....

On Sunday, League Leader Fenerbahce will host Samsunspor...

Samsunspor, has been really bad......

They have only one match so far.....

They have very bad defense and they let in 11 goals in just 6 weeks!

Fenerbahce should have no problem in Samsun...

But, they can't play the way they played against Mersin!

A draw for Samsun will be huge and will be really bad for Fenerbahce...

The team who surprise a lot of people this season, Orduspor, will be in Ankara to play Ankaragu on Sunday.

Ankaragucu the team who is in turmoil, will have no chance against Orduspor....

Ankaragucu along with Gaziantep is the only two teams who has not won matches in the league this season, so far!

Could they do it this weekend?

We shell see.....

Gazinatep and Ankaragucu both playing at home, in the normal circumstances, they should...

I think , Gaziantep could do it against Gencelerbirligi....

Turkish Super League week 7, will close with Mersin vs Besiktas match on Monday..

Besiktas and Mersin are dead luck with 10 points in the standings.....

This is a must win match for Besiktas...

A loss for Besiktas who is on 7th place before this match, could see them selfs in the lower standings!

Lastly, most of the matches in the 7th weekend will be point wars ,between the teams!

See you next time.

Dynamo Kiev 1- Besiktas 0

Besiktas had the one point in their hand, but they lost it with stupid plays in the stoppage- time!

Keeper Cenk Gonen's trying to delay the match and getting yellow card and Besiktas caretaker coach Carlos Carvalhal's substitution in the stoppage-time was biggest mistake in this match...

So, with this last-gasp goal Besiktas ,not only lost the match, they also lost the second place in the group to Dynamo Kiev.

Besiktas after losing a chance to capture the second place in the Turkish Super League this past weekend lost the second place with this last second minute lost in the Europa League in Group E.

Besiktas who spend million dollars in the transfer season, really surprising their fans with on and off the pitch.

Lastly, I have said this many times, Big teams should have smart and experience keepers in goal!

Yesterday , we saw this one more time again.....

Cenk could be young upcoming keeper but last night,he did not show that in the stoppage-time of the match!

Garmash scored in the third minute of stoppage time as Dynamo Kiev earned 1-0 win over Besiktas....

Besiktas willbe looking for revenge in Kiev on Thursday's Europa League Group E clash against Dynamo Kiev.

Besiktas met Dynamo Kiev in the last 32 of last season's competition, and found themselves comprehensively beaten as they suffered an 8-1 aggregate defeat.

Trabzonspor goes down in Moskow to CSKA in Champions League 3-0

Champions League Group B leaders Trabzonspor loss to CSKA Moskow on Tuesday in Moskow with a surprise score 3-0.

Seydou Doumbia scored twice ......

Doumbia opened the scoring in the 29th minute after Vagner Love’s neat back heel pass near the box.

Seydou Doumbia fired a low right-foot shot into the corner. Substitute Aleksandrs Cauna made it 2-0, volleying home Love’s high cross in the 76th, and Doumbia finished the scoring after a rapid counterattack 10 minutes later.

This was first win for Moskow in the group and put them with Trabzonspor same level, on four points from three games in Group B.

Trabzonspor will host CSKA on November 2.....

CSKA's Doumbia has scored four goals in three games so far.

Trabzonspor's only clear opportunity was when Adrian Mierzejewski volleyed wide and Brazilian Alanzinho went through on goal but collided with the goalkeeper.

The ball rebounded to striker Halil Altintop, who shot straight at defender Sergei Ignashevich with the goal wide open.

TEAMS.....

CSKA Moscow: 30-Vladimir Gabulov; 59-Semen Fedotov, 24-Vasily Berezutsky, 4-Sergei Ignashevich, 6-Alexei Berezutsky; 21-Zoran Tosic (19-Aleksandrs Cauna 62), 22-Yevgeny Aldonin, 17-Pavel Mamayev (2-Deividas Semberas 70), 10-Alan Dzagoyev; 9-Vagner Love, 8-Seydou Doumbia (25-Elver Rahimic 87)

Trabzonspor: 29-Tolga Zengin; 5-Marek Cech (27-Marek Sapara 75), 6-Arkadiusz Glowacki, 23-Giray Kacar, 28-Ondrej Celustka, 30-Serkan Balci; 15-Didier Zokora, 20-Gustavo Colman, 25-Alanzinho (32-Pawel Brozek 46); 9-Halil Altintop (24-Aykut Akgun 90+1), 10-Adrian Mierzejewski

CSKA vs Trabzonspor Preview

Trabzonspor coach Senol Gunes has challenged his team to build on their thrilling start to the Champions League by claiming four points against CSKA Moscow.

In their first tilt at the Champions League, after being called in to replace scandal-hit Fenerbahce, Trabzonspor have started by beating Inter Milan at the San Siro and drawing at home against French champions Lille.

They face CSKA on Tuesdayevening in the Russian capital, where temperatures are expected to dip close to freezing, and then again in Trabzon on November 2.
Should they reach eight points after those games they will be handily placed to push for a place in the knock-out stage.

Gunes, who returns to the bench after a two-game touchline ban, told todayszaman.com: "We have never played our opponent before. But we know for sure that they are a good team.
"If we win, that will be a great advantage for us in the group. If we lose, then we will fall behind.

"Simply put, if we can draw there and win at home in Istanbul, then we will earn four points and that's what we're looking for."

CSKA have dropped to second place in the Russian league behind Zenit St Petersburg after winning just twice in 10 games, while Trabzonspor have made a mixed start to the Turkish season, taking 11 points from their opening six matches, and leaking late goals has been a problem.
Trabzonspor won at the weekend against Ankaragucu while CSKA were held at home by Terek Grozny after throwing away a two-goal lead.

At least CSKA have been able to count on striker Seydou Doumbia for goals, with eight in nine games his running total.

Trabzonspor have their own prolific marksman, but Burak Yilmaz has been suspended in European competition since his red card against Athletic Bilbao in the Champions League play-offs, and serves the final game of his ban on Tuesday.

CSKA head coach Leonid Slutski said: "Burak is a very good striker of course, but Trabzonspor have won four points without him."
Slutski is expected to be without midfielder Sekou Oliseh, who suffered a hamstring injury in training last week, but has indicated he will look again at the Liberian midfielder's fitness on Tuesday.

CSKA have drawn with Lille and lost to Inter Milan so far in this European campaign, but defender Kirill Nababkin still holds out hope of a top-two finish in Group B.
Nababkin said on uefa.com: "We're playing at home, so we need to win.

"We have our backs against the wall, but we're still capable of progressing from the group."

Turkish Super League: Week 6, Preview

It will be, back to Turkish Super League on Friday with Trabzonspor vs Ankaragucu match..

With a win against Ankaragucu at home could move Trabzonspor to second place with 11 points, before the Saturday, Sunday matches.

There will be three matches on Saturday , four matches on Sunday and one match on Monday in the week 6.

The first place team and last season's Champion Fenerbahce will have to wait until Monday night to play.

On Saturday if Besiktas beats Kayseri at home they will even the points with Fenerbahce before Monday.

On Sunday, Galatasaray and Buyuksehir will be both home and will try to get three poinst to reach Fenerbahce too..

Buyuksehir will host Samsunspor while Galatasaray will have first real test against Bursaspor this season!

Galatasaray team has not lost a home match at their new nest Turk Telekom Arena "Aslantepe",

this season..

On the other hand Bursaspor who is only one point behind, would want to earn point or points against Galatasaray on Sunday....

Bursaspor, after a shaky start in the first couple matches, they are on the right track...

Bursaspor is the only team scored 11 goals in last five matches in the league....

Look for Bursaspor give hard time to Galatasaray, in this match!

On Monday, week 6, will come to end with Fenerbace traveling to Mersin....

Mersin is the leagues new team and with a lot of good experience players and good coach.

Mersin is the other team who has 10 points too...

They are better team in away matches....

At home, withe pitch being very bad, they don't play that good...

Monday's Fenerbahce match will be huge match for Mersin...

I think, this is first time a Turkey's giant Fenerbahce will be visiting this city in over thirty years!

Fenerbahce looks better on the scale but don't underestimate Mersin....

So,busy football fixture will start once again, for Turks and Turkish football team...

Football almost every day!

For Trabzonspor and Besiktas it will be much harder playing their European matches too..

Until, National team brake ,Turkish Super League will be in full force mode!

Remember the goal for very team is to finish in top four....

And for some team ti finish in top eight,,,,,,,,

In the new play-off system this season.....

It is Turkey vs Croatia again!

Photo By : Ahmet B Turgut

It is revenge time for Croatia and for Turkey wants live the same feelings back in Euro 2008!

Croatia back in Euro 2008, quarter- finals, lost to Turkey on penalties...

They will meet again once more in the play-offs for the Euro 2012 tournament.

The two-game playoffs will start on Nov.11 and 12, with the return matches Nov. 15.

Turkey will host the first game.....

This will be fifth playoff for Turkey, while Croatia lost its only other playoff, for a place at the 1998 World Cup.

The Euro 2012 draw will take place Dec. 2 in Kiev, and tournament will be on from June 8 to July 1. 2012.

After the draw Turkish National team assistant coach Oguz Cetin and Croatia coach Salaven Blic talked about the match up....

Oguz Cetin :We have been drawn against strong opponents. We know Croatia from EURO 2008.

Slaven Blic :We have been waiting and dreaming about getting our revenge for three years.

We all remember how we lost that EURO 2008 quarter-final. Yes, Turkey is are strong opponents, but we are stronger

Euro 2012 playoff seeds announced

Turkey is not top seeded team in the playoffs !

Turkish Football Federation web site(www.tff.org) made a huge error yesterday, announcing Turkey as a top seeded team in the play-offs!

Well that was not truth and it was bogus news from TFF!

UEFA have announced the seeds for the Euro 2012 playoffs, after the final round of qualifying matches were completed on Tuesday.

The four teams seeded for the draw are 2004 hosts and beaten finalists Portugal, Giovanni Trapattoni's Republic of Ireland, Euro 1996 runners-up Czech Republic and Slaven Bilic's Croatia.

The four other nations in the draw are 2008 semifinalists Turkey and three countries bidding to reach their first major soccer tournament -- Montenegro, Estonia and Bosnia Herzegovina.

The playoff draw will be made in the Ukrainian capital of Kiev on Thursday, with the two-legged ties set to be played on November 11/12 and 15.

Next year's tournament will be the 14th European championship and will be co-hosted by Poland and Ukraine

Turkey Finishes Second and Qualify for the Play-Offs

Turkey's Burak Yilmaz challenges Azerbaijan's Rashad Sadigov and Vladimir Levin during their Euro 2012 qualifying Group A. soccer match at Turk Telekom Arena - Photo by Reuters

It did not come easy but they did it hard and stresfull way with boring football!

Turkish National team was having tough time playing against Azebejian in the first half...

At the first half brake they went in to the loccker rooms and re group and found out a good news that Germany was beating Belgium 2-o at the half!

That gave the Turkish players a little releif and they came out and played little better football in the second half...

After, Selcuk Inan came in to the match, Turkey loked in attacking mode!

And Burak Yilmaz struck a goal after 59 minutes, firing from Selcuk Inan's pass.

With Belgium losing 3-1 to Germany, Turkey did enough - just enough !

Turkey snatched second place and a place in the Euro 2012 qualifying play-offs.

Last chance for Turkey!

After losing to Germany on Friday in Istanbul, Turkey's fate is first in their hands and will be looking help from Germany to beat Belgium.

Last Friday's lost to Germany was probably the worst match I ever seen in long time!

You could lose a match with playing and fighting...that is no problem!

But, I did not see any player on the pitch except Hamit Altintop giving their hundred percent!

The remarks of Hamit Altintop after the match, tells everything about Turkish National team players...

He was so fed up, after the match He was not happy with his team mates!

He said, he just came out of the injury and gave all he got during the match, but he did not see the same thing from most of the players on the team!

I give a lot of kudos to Hamit Altintop for speaking out for this....

However, His remark after the match was not picked by Turkish media....

Turkish media was busy about getting Guus Hiddink out of his job!

Guus Hiddink realistically told Turkish media , Germany was better than Turkey!

For that, people are still talking about Guuus Hiddink and criticized him for that..

He was telling people the truth but, he was getting criticized by major media and Turkish people before the Germany match,,,,,,

After watching Turkey vs Germany match I hope people understood what he was talking about!

Everything he warned us about Turkish national team weakness, did happen against Germany...

On first Germany goal.."He talked about Turkish national was weak on not coming back fast enough after attacking!" that is what exactly happened in the first goal...Turkey attacked, Hamit took the shot and German keeper Manuel Neuer released the ball to midfield and two touch later Germany scored the goal by Gomez after trashing Servet Cetin!

That German keeper Manuel Neuer, actually put his signature on two goals that Germany scored!

I have never seen a Turkish keeper that would contribute to the goal and attacks like this...

NOW LAST CHANCE ,,,,,

Turkish National Team will play against Azerbaijan in their Euro 2012 Group A qualifying finale at Turk Telecom Arena on Tuesday.

IN Group A, Germany already in. Belgium is on second place with 15 points and Turkey with 14 points on third place...

Even if Turkey beats Azerbaijan on Tuesday ,Turkey needs Germany's little help to beat Belgium or at least get a draw. A win for Belgium against Germany will eliminate Turkey hope to go to playoffs in the Euro 2012.

Volkan Demirel has been removed from the national squad due to injury ,another Fenerbahce keeper Mert Gunok was called up his place...

Uncertainty in the goal for Turkey could be problem for Hiddink....

Turkey vs Azebejian match will start at 20.00 local Turkey time and NTV will broadcast the match live ...
http://cm.ntvmsnbc.com/ServerSite/wui/NTVCanliYayin/default.aspx

Lastly, sacking Hiddink and bringing new face to coaching position is not going to help Turkish football and national team!

When did you see a coached worked 5 or more years with Turkish National team?

None.......

To order to have successful national team and successful farm team (pool of National team players) you need to have consistency!

Firing Hiddink and bringing Turkish coach is not going to change anything....

Aren't we the one ( Turkish media and Turkish soccer fans )called Joachim Low, all kinds of names and said He was not coach?.....

See you soon,

Turkey vs Germany , Euro 2012 Qualifying

This has to be the one of the top matches on Friday, in the Euro2012 Qualifications!

Turkey vs Germany match in Istanbul at Turk Telekom "Aslantepe" Arena.....

Germany already quantified and they are on top of the group A, with perfect record...

Germany will be looking to maintain its perfect record in the last two matches.

On the other hand Turkey, who is on second place in the group and has to get at least a draw against Germany and win against Azerbaijan on Tuesday in the last match...

Germany will play their last match in the group against Belgium the team who is breading on Turkey's neck!

.
Turkish National team is with 14 points and Belgium with 12 points..

Both team plays against Germany!

While Turkey playing Germany on Friday ,Belgium will be home against Kazakhstan on Friday...

A win against Germany will keep Turkey's hopes alive to their last group game with Azerbaijan next Tuesday.

Turkey's goal is to finish the group stage at the second place and make a headway to the play-offs.

I believe they could do it if they play as a team ninety minutes....

On the other hand, Germany most likely will use their young players on Friday....

What is so interesting , both teams will have German born player playing for their National team..

Mesut Ozil who is born in Germany, who chose German national team will be with Germany National team while German born players like Mehmet Ekici, Hakan Balta, Hamit Altintop,Nuri Sahin , Gokhan Tore,Tunay Torun and Omer Toprak.

For Turkey, Emre Belozoglu, Servet Cetin ,and Selcuk Sahin wont play on Friday...

For Germany, Mario Gomez and Miroslav Klose is big question mark until match hour...

Turkish National team coach Guus Hiddink looking for his third consecutive home win over Germany in Friday's Euro 2012 qualifier.

Could they do it, it will be difficult but not impossible!

Turkey vs Germany match will start at 2;30,PM,ET on Friday

and will be only on Foxsoccer.tv in the United States and in Turkey match will be broadcast by NTV.

Turkish Super League Review ....

When was the last time we saw Istanbul big guns on top of the Turkish Super League together?

It has been long time!

At the end of week 5, before the National team break , Fenerbahce is in first place and Galatasaray on second and Besiktas on Fourth. In between them there is another Istanbul minow Buyuksehirspor who is on third place.

Looking back to week 5 matches, Fenerbahce still in good form and is the only team who did not lost a match in five weeks...

Galatasaray under Fatih Terim, after starting shaky to league has won their third match in Ankara and captured the second place on Sunday.

Besiktas had a chance to capture the second place from Galatasaray on Monday night but they could not do it and only settle for a draw after being down two players against Gaziantep...

Turkey's only team in the Champions League Trabzonspor won their second back to back match and their striker Burak Yilmaz scored again...

Burak Yilmaz has 7 goals in 5 matches actually he played in four matches and he is the leading scorer in Turkish Super League..

Webo from Istanbul Buyuksehir and Nobre from Mersin , follows him with five goals...

Mersin , new comers, are the most surprised team in the league so far....

They have three wins one draw and one lost and they are with 10 points on fifth place..

Another newcomer team Orduspor won their away match in the week 5!

Orduspor , beat Karabukspor at their home and showed that they are not joke too..

Another interesting thing in week 5 was, Gaziantep earned their first points with their new young coach Abdullah Ercan...

So, Gaziantep earned their first point after five rounds in Turkey...

Along Gaziantep, Karabuk and Kayserispor has been disappointment teams so far!

After National team break, in the week 6, Galatasaray will have a real test against Bursaspor and Mersin vs Fenerbahce matches will be really interesting too..
