Manchester United in Turkish Airlines sponsorship deal
Manchester United has signed a sponsorship deal with Turkish Airlines, the club has confirmed.
The three and a half year contract will see the airline replace Air Asia as the team's official carrier.
Manchester United said it was a multi-million pound deal, but have not released the exact financial details.
It comes a day after accounts showed that the club's debts had risen to £716m. It is also proposing to raise £500m in a bond issue.
The accounts of Manchester United's parent group Red Football Joint Venture also showed that the club's sponsorship income had grown 48% over the past year, not including the £80m shirt deal with American finance group Aon that takes effect next season.
Turkish Airlines, which operates flights from Manchester Airport, carried 25.1 million passengers last year.
It employs more than 12,000 people and is a member of the Star Alliance grouping of airlines that also includes United Airlines, BMI and Lufthansa.

Digiturk Won The Exclusive Rights Of Turkey's Top Football League!
So, The war for the TV rights are over in Turkey...
The company who had the rights for last nine years won the the main A package again in the bitting war.
It was not easy though.....
and they coughed a lot of dough for this rights....
NTV, Dogan TV, Government run channel TRT and Turkey's leading fixed line phone operator Turk Telekom were the other names were bitting for this tender.
Digiturk made the highest bid with 321 million USD for the Package "A" which includes rights of live broadcasting at Super League matches.
The matches will broadcast on LIG TV channel on Digiturk network.....
I just hope, the Maraton Program produced by Sansal Buyukaga will change for good..
It should be shorter ,instead of a lot of talking they should show the actions rather doing the trash talk.
I now one thing, Digiturk Chief Executive Officer Ertan Ozerdem, and owner of the Digiturk Mehmet Karamehmet will take more secured steps to market this product in Turkey.
The things in LIg TV and Digiturk wont be same any more.....
So, we know the Turkcell Super League's four live matches will be on Digiturk's Lig TV channel for the next 4+1 year ...
Lastly, look for changes in the Maraton program....it is coming...
