Spartak Moscow Beat Fenerbahce 2-1

Three goals in 10 minutes saw Spartak Moscow beat Fenerbahce 2-1 at home in a first-leg playoff match, with striker Emmanuel Emenike on target against his former club.

Emenike, who joined Spartak last year after just two months at Fenerbahce, scored on 59 minutes Tuesday, hammering the ball into the net after pouncing on a low left-wing cross from Dmitry Kombarov.

Fenerbahce levelled the score and grabbed an important away goal six minutes later as ex-Liverpool striker Kuyt struck from a narrow angle into the empty net after Saw set him up with a cushioned header in the penalty area.
Spartak restored their lead within four minutes as Kombarov lashed the ball into the net off a corner from ex-Celtic midfielder Aiden McGeady.
"We controlled the game the whole 90 minutes, although we allowed our opponents to convert one of the two dangerous chances they managed to create," Spartak coach Emery said.
"Of course, it is painful that we lost, but the second game is in seven days, so we have to show the result at home, supported by our fans," Fenerbahce midfielder Krosic said.
Spartak started the first half brightly, keeping Fenerbahce's occasional attacking thrusts under control, but missed several good chances.
Former Diniyar Bilyaletdinov could have headed in an opener three minutes after kickoff, but the ball whizzed past the post.
Fenerbahce goalkeeper Mert Gunok saved his team from a bouncing header by Brazilian striker Ari that threatened to loop in under the crossbar as Gunok hurried back to tip it over.
A minute later Ari, attempted another header but this time it was blocked.
On 24 minutes Bilyaletdinov tried to volley the ball into the net from the cross by midfielder Evgeni Makeev, but his powerful kick went wide.
Sow missed Fenerbahce's only clear-cut chance on the first half on 35 minutes as he sent the ball far above the bar from inside the penalty area.
Early in the second half, Fenerbahce the chance to open the scoring, but Spartak goalkeeper Andriy Dikan saved Brazilian midfielder Cristian's header.
Spartak could have extended their lead at 82 minutes, but McGeady scooped the ball over the bar from four yards after connecting with a pass from striker Artem Dzyuba.
Spartak fans celebrated the start of the second half with flares, which led to smoke floating around the stadium for much of the half. Use of pyrotechnics regularly attracts UEFA sanctions in European competition.
The second leg will take place August 29 in Istanbul.

Finally ,Fenerbahce Gets Yobo from Everton

Yes, it was one time, looked like a dead deal......

The communication between Yobo's manager and Fenerbahce was none, after  Yobo and Yobos's manager demand  bonus payment for European  matches..

There were no communications until after Vaslui match ,ended with a surprise 1-1, draw at home....

Next morning, Fenerbahce got on the phone and  started  the phone calls...

First, they got Milos Krasic after just yesterday they wrapped  the deal with Arsenal for Yobo...

The 31-year-old defender signed a three-year contract with  Fenerbahce.

Yobo will earn 2m (£1.5m) per year.....

After Yobo and agreed to term with Fenerbahce , He wrote this on Twitter..

"I would love to thank Everton and the management of Fenerbahce for reaching a deal eventually,

31 year old Nigerian player became Fenerbahce player after playing two years on loan from Arsenal.

Here is  my biggest gripe on this two transfer....

Why Aykut Kocaman, coach of Fenerbahce waited so long to sign these two players?

After Vasuli disaster, someone  pushed the button.....

I just hope, Fenerbahce  don't  lose against Vasuli in Romania...

If they do, it will not be good for Aykut Kocaman!

The pressure will be on him....

Yobo's Fenerbahce switch is off

Yobo's Fener switch is off

Joseph Yobo has put an end to the transfer saga linking him to a permanent move to Turkey Super Lig side, Fenerbahce.

A source close to the Nigerian captain informed on Tuesday that the lack of communication has led to the centre-back calling off the deal.

Yobo is now said to be ready to weigh up other options following this decision.

"The deal is off due to issues bordering on lack of communication and commitment. So he will be looking at other possibilities because there are no shortage of interest in him," said a very source to the defender.

Fans and police clash as Galatasaray win title

Galatasaray won the Turkish Super league title for the 18th time

after a 0-0 draw in Kadikoy against Fenerbahce.....

Fenerbahce fans clashed with police after end of the match......

Fenerbahce needed to win to retain the championship,

Sports channel Lig TV said journalists, players and even policemen were also affected by the pepper spray.

Some parents angrily reacted to the police after their children were affected, the state-run Anadolu Agency said.

The pitch invasion and violence at Sukru Saracoglu Stadium blocked Galatasaray from immediately celebrating its 18th league title and lifting the Turkish Super League Cup.

Authorities finally turned off the floodlights.

But the team eventually returned to the field to receive the trophy.
"We would not take the cup in the changing room,'' state television quoted coach Fatih Terim.
Galatasaray ended the four-way title playoffs with 48 points,

one ahead of Fenerbahce.
Trabzonspor were third and Besiktas fourth.
There was chaos after the match as Fenerbahce fans invadedthe pitch and clashed with police.
Fans also ripped up seats and threw them on to theplaying surface.

Galatasaray fans did not attend the match undera federation ruling.
Outside the stadium police fired tear gas and water cannonas they clashed again with Fenerbahce supporters.
There were contrasting scenes elsewhere in the city atTaksim Square where Galatasaray fans danced, lit flares andwaved flags in the team's red and yellow colors.
Fatih Terim in his third spell with Galatasaray after taking the job from Bulent Ulgen,
won the fifth Championship in Turkey.
Fatih Terim, broke Trabzonspor former coach Ahmet Suat Ozyazici's record , with four league title.

Who will be Turkey's Champions?Galatasaray or Fenerbahce

Turks in Turkey and around  the world will be glued to LIGTV today for Turkey's biggest match!

Galatasaray needs a draw to claim the 18th league title .....

On the other hand, Fenerbahce already won the league title 18 times  ....

They are looking for their 19th league title!

Galatasaray finished  regular season on top with  9 points ahead of Fenerbahce....

Because of Turkish FA's new implemented  playoff,  the regular season season points was butchered to half  with no real reason giving !

After Galatasaray losing to Fenerbahce in their home turf , and drawing against Besiktas last weekend after going ahead 2-0.....

Two important matches to their rivals, was disaster for Galatasaray and Fatih Terim....

In the first match ,against Fenerbahce, after scoring the equalizing goal, instead of protecting the tie they went all out and got hurt by Fenerbahce's  goal in the last ten minutes of the match thanks to defense collapse !

And last weekend after going up 2-0 against Besiktas , they found them self  with 2-2 ,draw match...

A loss of five points, in those two matches really hurt Galatasaray, mentally.....

Fenerbahce has a huge advantage with home crowd......

The 12th men, in the stands will be big factor in Kadikoy, today......

As I said before , Galatasaray need a draw to claim the leagues title.....

Could  they play the whole match with that plan?

I don't think so....

Coaches will be huge factor on the sidelines for this match....

Lifting Fatih Terim's suspension, is huge plus for Galatasaray.........

He is one the best sideline coach in Turkey....

His presence on sideline, effects the play and the players......

As far as Aykut Kocoman, when Fatih Terim was coaching Turkish National Team back in Euro 1996 , Aykut Kocaman was his player.....

Experience is on Fatih Terim's side, on  the sideline......

Aykut Kocaman's sideline coaching has been criticized by Fenerbahce fans in the past....

This will be huge match for him, if they beat Galatasaray in Kadikoy.....

 Tactical war between two coaches!

Looking  at  the both teams.....

Both teams  has a great keepers....Volkan and  Muslera,,,,

This could be keepers match, today!

As far as the defense, both teams have good defense.......

Only thing I see with Galatasaray's young backs, making mistakes in  crucial times.....

Midfield......

Well, If Alex De Souza plays, I think it will be different....

Both teams midfield, is solid rock.,.....

For Galatasaray, Selcuk Inan is the brain of the midfield and the team.....

Melo and Eboue has to control their anger on the pitch ....

For Fenerbahce, Emre Belozoglu  has to do same thing too....

Forwards  for  both teams is questionable .....

Fenerbahce's  Stoch and Bienvenu  has to have really good match if Fenerbahce wants to win....

On the other hand, Galatasaray has to use Elmander as a striker not as a winger.....

Will it be Baros or Necati, playing along with Elmander ?

I think, Necati is playing very good in away matches with Elmander,,,,,

But, Fatih Terim needs Baros too, if he wants to win this match!

Galatasaray have not won at the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium for 12 years....

Could they do it ,today?

They could ,but it will not be easy......

This has to be the biggest match for Fatih Terim, as a coach......

Like I said, a draw is good for Galatasaray to claim the title!

But, Fenerbahce with their fans on their back, would want to end this season with league trophy....

It  will be one hell of game....

Who ever wins the championship, should be applaud by opponent players and the fans in the stadium at the end of the match....

That is my hope!

Turkey's biggest match will start at 19:00 local Turkey time.(12;00 ET )
