Besiktas' Egemen Korkmaz (C), Fabian Ernst (R) and Thomas Sivok celebrate after scoring against Dynamo Kiev during their Europa League Group E soccer match at Inonu stadium in Istanbul,Turkey
It was a must win match for Besiktas and they did it.....
Besiktas surpass Dynamo Kiev into second place in Europa League Group E as Egeman Korkmaz's header midway through the second half earned them a 1-0 win in Istanbul.
Besiktas, won both their home games in the group to reach six points.
Kiev have slipped to third in the group with five points, Besiktas four behind grup leaders Stoke City who won 2-1 in away match against Maccabi Tel Aviv.
MATCH DETAILS...
Mehmet Aurelio fired over from 25 yards in the fourth minute for Besiktas and a 30-yard free-kick from Oleksandr Aliev whistled wide at the other end.
Hugo Almeida wasted a great chance for the hosts when he headed Roberto Hilbert's cross wide from six yards after 11 minutes.
Aurelio came close for a second time when his 25th-minute shot forced Dynamo goalkeeper Oleksandr Shovkovskiy to parry, Ricardo Quaresma twice threatened a breakthrough.
Dynamo's Milos Ninkovic handled the ball on the Besiktas right and Simao's set-piece forced Kiev to concede a corner. Simao took it again , and he found the head of Korkmaz six yards out, who made no mistake and head the ball in to the net..1-0
Kiev tried to hit back immediately as Khacheridi headed wide Aliev's free-kick, and Sivok fired wide from a Simao free-kick in the 74th minute after a foul by Carlos Correa on Quaresma.
Kiev almost drew level with seven minutes left when Ninkovic headed over Aliev's inswinging corner from 12 yards, before kepeer Cenk Gonen kept Besiktas in front with a heroic series of saves in injury time.
First he parried away Aliev's header after Andriy Yarmolenko's corner was only partially cleared, before making quickfire blocks to deny Artem Milevskiy and Ayila Yussuf.
The final chance fell Aliev's way again, but once more Cenk Gonen was able to deny him as the match ended.

Turkish Super League Review: Fenerbahce Still Unbeaten!
We could say it was football, everyday, since Oct 26th to 0ct 31th in the Turkish Super League...
TFF,cremmed in, week 8 and 9, in between those days!
Prety much, every stadium was half emty through out theese matches....
In the week 8, Besiktas, Fenerbhace derby match was the best match!
The match end it with 2-2 draw....
Besiktas scored first, and Fenerbahce scored in last minutes of the match after Besiktas was up 2-1!
Besiktas let the match out of their hand in the last few second of the match with a collapse on defense!
Other important thing happened in the week 8 was , Galatasaray getting trashed at their home field by Gaziantep!
Galatasaray went down to Gaziantep with huge score 2-4...
Galatasaray had a chance to grab the first place on that day but they couldn't do it!
League's surprise team Orduspor, At home earned one point against storng Bursaspor in the very last seconds of the match..
Trabzonspor was disapointement in the week 8!
They almost lost at home against Antalyaspor ...
They were lucky to tied the match in the last minutes of the match after Trabzonpsor earned penalty kick..
Burak Yilmaz scored the second goal by PK and Trabzonspor earned al least one point from that match!
In the week 9,Trabzonspor earned three points in away match in Gazinatep with a golden goal by Halil Altintop!
The goal was purely , Halil's hussle allway from mid field...
He made something from nothing, just before the match ended!
That was a huge win for Trabzonspor before the Champions League match on Tuesday...
With Halil and Burak Yilmaz playing on Tuesday, Trabzonspor will have a scoring power against CSKA....
In week 9, all Istabul teams won their matches,,,,
Besiktas beat Sivas with one goal while Galatasaray earned three points against Kayseri in away match and Istanbul Buyuksehir also beat Ankaragucu in away match,,,,,
The only team who has not lost a match, Fenerbahce on Modnay night despite a bed refeere they manage to win their home game against Karabuk with 10 men!
Fenerbahce captain Alex De Souza recieved very curutial red card in the early mintes of the match!
Red card for "Mr.gentelmen", Alex De Souza was to much!
It should have been yellow ...
But, Fenerbahce managed to stay perfect and won the match ...
There are four Istanbul teams on top of the Turkish Super League at the end of week 9!
Fenerbahce, Galatasaray, Buyuksehir and Besiktas....
Fenerbahce is on top with 21 points and the rest of the three has 17 points
Trabzonspor and Orduspor with 16 points and they are on fith and sixth..
Mansaspor is right behind them with 15 points on seveth place..
The league only team who has not won a match ,Ankaragucu is at rock bottom at last place with only one point!
Samsunspor , Karabuk and Gaziantep teams are in striglling mode at the bottam of the league..
A win for them in the week 10, will give those teams a momentum...
But, they have to learn to win first!
In the week 10, there will be two matches on Friday ,four matches on Saturday and three matches on Sunday...
Most likely the first place team will not change even if Fenerbahce loses points in the week 10....
Fenerbahce will travel to Sivas to play Sivaspor while Galatasaray host Mersin at home and Besiktas visits Genclerbirligi in Ankara...
Istanbul Buyuksehir and Trabzonspor will both be at home....
Buyuksehir will play agaisnt Bursaspor and Trabzonspor will face Kayserispor!
Orduspor will host Gaziantep in Ordu, Turkey...
There will be very tight matches in the league this coming weekend!
When we look at last nine weeks, we see the same team on top of the Turkish Super League....
Fenerbahce......
Galatasaray, and Buyuksehir along with Orduspor teams are the most improved teams in the league so far....
Playing in Europe, is little hurting Trabzonspor and Besiktas in the league!
Plus, very busy and tight fixture in the league does not help their cause.
Like I said, Fenerbahce will not have any problem in Sivas on Friday...
Even if they lose points on Friday, they will close the week 10, on top!
The only thing will happened in case of the other teams winning their match, the four point gap will close to one point...
That is, if the other teams, that follow Fenerbahce, win their matches!
Let's hope , it will be fun packed weekend....

Very tight schedule in the Turkish Super League
First, over the weekend, there was a huge earthquake in Van,Turkey area, I am very sad to see people died in this earthquake .
It has been very tragic a couple of weeks for Turkey and Turkish people,,,
First it was Terrorists attacks by PKK terrorists organization now, earthquake....
Turkey and Turkish people will overcome this pain , I believe in that....
***********************************************************************
Now back to Turkish Super League........
7th week ended on Monday and week 8 will start on Wednesday and end on Thursday , and week 9th matches will played on Saturday Sunday and Monday.....
Get ready for a lot of matches in the next seven days!
Everything I said in my last article, happened in the week 7!
Except,leage leader, Fenerbahce....
The most disappointed score came form Fenerbahce when they lost two pints to last place team Samsunspor at home in front of their own fans!
Out of all the Istanbul teams Besiktas was the only team who earned win and three points...
Galatasaray, Fenerbahce and Istanbul Buyuksehir all lost points....
Galatasaray had a chance to even the points with Fenerbahce on Friday, but they were no show in Antalya! they were lucky to earn a point there...
When we looked back to week 7, we see Orduspor as most impressive team, and surprising team in the league this season...
As I predicted, they had no problem beating Ankaragucu in Ankara...
also, as I predicted Gaziantep won their first match of the season and earned their first three points...
As I mentioned in my last article on this blog, Karabuk beat a strong Buyuksehir team at home.
And Kayserispor with scoring six goal against Sivasspor showed they are coming back to normal form in the league....
Manisaspor beating Eskisehirspor in Eskisehir with two goals was the biggest surprise in the seventh week!
At the end of the week 7, Fenerbahce still on top with 17 points,Galatasaray on second with 14 points, Orduspor who is on third with same points(14), Buyuksehir is on fourth 134 and Besiktas on fifth with same points(13)...
Trabzonspor on sixth place with 12 points and Manisaspor on seventh place with 11 points...
Trabzonspor earning point in Bursa was also huge ...
Burak Yilmaz's PK goal gave them one points on the other hand Bursaspor lost the three points with a very bad back pass by their young captain Serdar Aziz to keeper Scott Carson, cost the PK , after Carson tripped Burak Yilmaz in the box!
It was the ninth league goal for Burak Yılmaz with TRabzonspor uniform this young season....
At the end of the seventh week, Ankaragucu is the only team who has not won a match in the league yet! they have only one point....
VERY BUSY SCHEDULE.................
Like I said before, week 8 and week 9 will be played in next 7 days.......
Week 8, matches will start on Wendsday and end on Thursday...
There will be 5 matches on Wendsday and four matches on Thursday .....
Perhaps, "the match of the week 8" will be the derby match between Besiktas and Fenerbahce..
On Thursday night in Istanbul Besiktas will host Fenerbahce ...
On Wendsday Galatasaray will play against Gaziantep at home . a win could put them in first place over Fenerbahce if they score two or more goals against Gazinatep, before Fenerbahce plays Besiktas on Thursday!
Also on Wendsday third place Orduspor could even the points with Fenerbahce if they beat Bursaspor in Ordu, Turkey...
So, before the week 9th starts on Saturday we could see a new league leader at the end of Thursday night!
Like I said, the biggest match of the week 8 , will be Besiktas vs Fnerbhace match...
I win for Besiktas will put them in top three , a win for Fenerbahce will stillthem on top of the league...
Looking at last two matches for Fenerbahce, they are in scoring drought!
And they are not playing well......
On the other hand, Besiktas is just like Fenerbahce too!
The only difference is they won their last match....
A strong Besiktas should have no problem beating Fenerbahce but, Fenerbahce will be more aggressive in this match after losing points at home against Sansunspor,,,,,
WEEK 8.....
