TRABZONSPOR BACK ON TOP IN TURKEY

Trabzonspor reclaim the top spot from Fenerbahce after away win against Manisaspor.

When the 21th weekend end it, last week, Trabzonspor was the top team in the Turkish Spor Toto Super League, but after Fenerbahce winning the derby match against Besiktas, with a huge score, they captured the first place for at least until Monday night.

On Friday, the third place Bursaspor, had a shot, but they got killed by tough team Gaziantep at home!

Thing are not going well in the Bursaspor team!

**********************

The most important match of the week, was the derby match, between Besiktas and Fenerbahce.

Perhaps best team in the second half of the season in Turkey ,Fenerbahce who won their last five matches in the league, started the match strong and scored early goal by Necip Uysal's own goal in the fith minute.

See The Video.....

Fenerbahce was better team in the first half hour of the first half,,,,

Besiktas Keeper Rustu Rechber saved at least three of Fenerbahce's attacks after allowing the first goal!

He was little late coming out on the first goal....

This was Rustu's first match in the goal for long time ever since he was injured..

Another huge factor in the Fenerbahce's goal Fenerbahce defender Lugano, was guilty of offensive faul but Referee Cuneyt Cakir did not called it....

He actualy ,was late pulling cards in the first half of the match and that cost Besiktas maybe the match!

Here is why, in the first half, Fenerbahce defender Lugano clearly had two incedents, that he should have received, two yellow cards.

Besiktas player Ekrem Dag, also should it been card it,for dangers play....

Turkey's FIFA referee, Cuneyt Cakir, did not pulled the cards, in the first half and in the second half, things got out of his hands!

In the last fifteen minutes of the first half Besiktas was better team...

Fenerbahce made a huge mistake by settling back and also was unlucky...

One of the shot, hit the post....

In the 43th minute, Ekrem Dag scored and even the score and half finished with that score.

Besiktas started the second half, strong again and found the second goal in the 49th minute by Ibrahim Toraman's, surprise goal....

Besiktas was taking free kick just out side of the box, and the ball was deflected by Fenerbahce defender and went to wide open Ibrahim Toraman's foot!

Al he had to do is shoot the ball...and he scored....

Things were going good for Besiktas .....

They were ahead 2-1 in the match....

But things turned upside down, for Besiktas after the 60th minute....

Matteo Ferrari saw a red card after tangling with Lugano in the box and referee Cuneyt Cakir awarded penalty kick to Fenerbahce!

See The Video,,,,,,,,,

Lugana started first, but retalition was from Matteo Ferrari, so, referee saw that and gave him the red card!

Just before that, in Fenerbahce's attack ,Matteo Ferrari, wrestled Lugano and brought him down in the box, Cuneyt Cakir, did not call anything for that!

I think, this was make up time for that ,in my opinion...

These two players were doing this all game long, but Cuney Cakir, just didnt see it until that penalty kick...

ALEX.....ALEX........ALEX..............

So, That cost Besiktas the match but, great Fenerbahce Captain Alex De Souza came in the scene and scored three unanswered goals and beat Besktas in their nest with huge 2-4 score.

Alex De Souza, was the star of this match, along with Fenerbahce keeper Volkan Demirel...

If Volkan Demirel would not save the one one goal from Almadia it would have been 3-1,,,

That was huge save of the day, in my opinion...

Although Rustu saved a lot of goals but I think ,at that tine when the score was 2-1 Besiktas

winning, Volkan Demirel made a huge save.....

As far as Alex he was just smooth and smart.....

He won this match along with Volkan Demirel in my opinion....

I just hoped , a referee like Cuney Cakir, should have been more focused on the field to players!

He made a huge impact on this match both ways.....

He was kind of lost on the field on Sunday....

Besiktas had their expensive stars but Fenerbahce was better team at the finish....

As I been saying Fenerbahce is the best team in the last six weeks in Turkey,,,,,

They are playing like a team....

As far as Besiktas, they are way off, the title race and way behind Fenerbahce and Trabzonspor!

Their only hope is the Turkish Cup this season...

**************************************
Trabzonspor back on top.......

Trabzonspor beat the team that beat them in the first half, with a late goal by Alanzinho!

Manisapor was the only team that beat Trabzonspor ,in the first half of the season...

But, this time, Trabzonspor beat them in Manisa with the score of 1-2 ..

And they did it very late in the match,,,,,,,

Trabzonspor first goal was scored by Umut Bulut who scored his 99th goal in the Turkish League!

Manisaspor took the lead very early in the match with Jimmy Dixon's goal in the 14th minute.

But, just could not get the second goal to secure the score of the match and the second half of the match was all Trabzonspor....They played much better in the second half and won this very important match...

With this win, Trabzonspor still the top team in Turkey with 50 pints while Fenerbahce at second place with 48 points and Bursaspor on third with 45 points....

Bursaspor after going down at home to Gazinatepspor, fell behind Fenerbahce and Trabzonspor!

The teams like Kayserispor and Gaziantepspor, are the teams will make a push to the top in the coming weeks.

There is 12 more weeks to play in this league, that is wht the race on the top and the bottom will be hotter than hell in the Turkish Super League.

In the 23th weekend , perhaps most important match will take place in Trabzon when Trabzonspor will host Kayserispor on Sunday while Bursaspor travel to Buca.Izmir on Friday to play Bucaspor and Fenerbahce will have an easy match against bottom team Kasimpasa on Saturday.

Than again, you will never know what will happen in that match!

Stay tuned......

SATURDAY WRAP-UP AND SUNDAY DERBY MATCH BETWEEN BESIKTAS AND FENERBAHCE

Saturday matches started with a surprise scores and almost ended with a surprise score too!

In the early matches, while last place team Kasimpasa beat Ankaragucu , the last year champions Bursaspor lost at home against one of the best teams in the last six weeks!

The last match of the Saturday, could it been the biggest upset of the day,if Bucaspor would it score on the chances that they wasted...

But, Galatasaray scored on a dead ball and won the match in the last 14 minutes of the match....

**************************************************************

Bursaspor's hopes of defending their Turkish Super League title suffered a huge blow as they went down 4-1 at home to Gaziantepspor.

Goals from Wagner and Yalcin Ayhan had Gaziantepspor two up before Dany Nounkeu put through his own net to give the champions cause for optimism at the break.

However, Cenk Tosun bagged a second-half brace to seal an emphatic away win which consolidated fifth spot for Gaziantepspor and kept Bursaspor third - two points behind leaders Trabzonspor, having played a game more.

Brrsaspor's American player Jozy Altidore .came out of the match, around thirty minute ,because of ankle injury...

Latest news is, he is okay and will be ready for next match on Friday against Bucasspor in Izmir.

Juan Culio's strike 14 minutes from time lifted Galatasaray to sixth with a 1-0 home win over Bucaspor.

Bucaspor missed and wasted a lot of chances, before Galatasaray scored the only goal in this match!

Elsewhere,Ilhan Parlak's 89th-minute goal gave Karabukspor a dramatic 3-2 win at struggling Genclerbirligi.

Parlak's first-half penalty and substitute Muhammed Ozdin's strike four minutes after half-time had turned the game in Karabukspor's favour after Joachim Mununga's early opener.

Last place team Kasimpasa boosted their survival aspirations by picking up only their third win of the season and second back to back win at home against Ankaragucu.2-1,

Juan Robledo and Halil Colak were the men on target for Kasimpasa, w Fatih Tekke scored the Ankaragucu's goal by penalty kick.

COULD FENERBAHCE CAPTURE THE FIRST PLACE ON SUNDAY?

THE DERBY MATCH.....BESIKTAS VS FENERBAHCE.......

On Saturday, Bursaspor had that chance but could not do it......

Now, Fenerbahce have that chance on Sunday....

They have to do it hard way....beating Besiktas at Inonu stadium in front of Besiktas fans!

Besiktas has all kinds of problems...

On the other hand the best team in the last weeks is Fenerbahce....

They are playing like a team and they are focused....

Besiktas have a big issue in goal too...

We don't know who will be in goal....

Rustu Recber , might play in this match....

He has not played in goal for a long time and this is not good for Besiktas!

Fenerbahce has cut a nine-point deficit with leader Trabzonspor to just two points and looks like, heavy contender for the title, now...

On the other hand, Besiktas, are sixth and 15 points behind Trabzonspor in the league!

A win for Fenerbahce, will make them, number one team in the league, until Monday ,that when Trabzonspor visits Manisaspor.....

Under fire, Besiktas coach Bernd Schuster and Besiktas fans are in feud to because of his remarks about Besiktas fans!

After the huge lost against Dynamo Kiev in Istanbul he said "But I don’t care about the shouts, protests, whatever. If anybody is bothered by this, they shouldn’t come here, they should go home."

That got, Besiktas fans really mad.....

Also on Sunday, Konyaspor hosts Istanbul BuyukSehir and Kayserispor wil be home against Antalya.

Istanbul BuyukSehir could move up if they win this match and Kayserispor also needs to win their match too...

If Besiktas lose on Sunday and Manisaspor wins against Trabzon on Monday , we might just see Besiktas going down to seventh or eight place!

Bursaspor loses unexpectedly......

Bursaspor loses unexpectedly......
By Emre KARATAS

Bursaspor hosted Gaziantepspor but they gained an unexpexted result as G.Antep scored four goals while Bursaspor scored only one.

Altidore was replaced with a badly twisted ankle in the first half which ruined the manager Ertugrul Saglam's game plan early in the game.

G.Antep scored the first goal to tell the truth, with a counter attack while doing nothing but defending their own half. Bursaspor lost their concentration for several minutes before they conceded the goal number two.

Before the first half ended Bursaspor got their only goal as a G.Antep defender found his own net. The first half ended 2-1.

Into the second half, as Bursaspor was looking for the equalizer they conceded two more unfortunate goals just because the defenders were not doing any good at all.

Proven once again, rushing for an early goal in soccer could turn things upside down with bad memories.

By the way their third position in the table is in secure as there is a six point deficit with Kayserispor.

Now Bursaspor is looking forward to having the next games to compensate points they missed yesterday.

BESIKTAS HOST DYNOMO KYIV IN ISTANBUL,TURKEY

Besiktas set to host Ukraine's Dynamo Kyiv on Thursday in the first leg game in the round of 32 at the UEFA Europa League.

The game at Istanbul's Fiyapi Inonu Stadium will kick-off at 8:00 p.m. Turkish local time.(1:00 PM. ET)

Besiktas finished second in their group at the UEFA Europa League.

BESIKTAS SACK VETERAN SKIPPER IBRAHIM UZULMEZ....

THE REASON...PUNCHING HIS TEAMMATE!

Besiktas have taken the stunning step of sacking captain Ibrahim Uzulmez ahead of their Europa League last-32 tie at home to Dynamo Kiev on Thursday.

The move came following an emergency meeting after club's board of meeting ,looked into the events which unfolded during half-time of Sunday's 1-0 defeat to Ankaragucu.

Ibrahim Uzulmez, punched Ibrahim Toraman after both had become embroiled in an argument, witnessed by coach Bernd Schuster.

This is not the first time happened ,they also exchanged blows at a pre-season training camp in Austria in 2008.

Besiktas Club said "statement read: "Upon learning of the unsportsmanlike conduct he displayed

in the dressing room during the half-time interval of this week's match against Ankaragucu,

our executive board held an emergency meeting and, in line with coaching staff recommendations, unanimously decided to terminate player Ibrahim Uzulmez's contract with immediate effect."

BIG PROBLEM,,,, INJURIES FOR BESIKTAS!

Goalkeeper Cenk Gonen with a broken finger and defender Ersan Gulum with a season-ending knee ligament injury.

As far as Dynamo, this will be their first since the Ukrainian League shut down for its winter break two months ago, and the first for new head coach Yuri Semin.

The winners of this clash in two matches ,will go on to face either Manchester City or Aris Thessaloniki in the last 16.

So, this is very important match for Besiktas tonight at home...

They must win with a clear and big score...

FENERBAHCE CAPTURES SECOND PLACE IN TURKEY.

The best form team in the last six matches , Fenerbahce captured the second place from Last years Champions Bursaspor as they even the points with Bursa and moved within two points of Super League leaders Trabzonspor.

On Monday night in front of home crowed, Fenerbahce beat Kayserisspor 2-0..

Mamadou Niang gave Fenerbahce the perfect start with a third-minute opener and Diego Lugano made sure of the victory on the hour mark.

Former Fenerbahce keeper Volkan Babacan now plays for Kayserispor made a huge mistake on Niang's goal!

So, with this match on Monday night the 21th weekend came to end.....

In the 21th weekend , after Trabzonspor winning in Sivas, stayed on top...Bursaspor. came little short in Eskisehir away match and lost the second place to Fenerbahce...

Perhaps, "the team of the week" this weekend, I think, It was Fenerbahce...

If we remember the point difference between Trabzon and Bursa , in the first half of the season, it was huge!

Fenerbahce is the only team from Istanbul big three, will be in the Championship race ,after this weekend,,,,

Galatasaray and Besiktas both went down, in their away match!

Galatasaray sits in the 10th place with 29 points and Besiktas droped down to sixth place with 29 points!

Also, biggest gainers in the 21th weekend were Bucaspor,Manisaspor and Kasimpasa...

Bucaspor with a huge win at home moved to 15th place and Manisapor beat Antalyaspor in Antalya with a huge score..1-4 and moved to 7th place.

Canadian National team player Josh Simpson scored two goals and missed at least four!

Kasimpasa, League's last place team surprised a lot of people and beat Karabuk at home!

In the 22th weekend, Besiktas vs Fenerbahce match will be the most important match in Turkey.

22th weekend will close with Monday night match when Turkey's top team Trabzon will travel to Manisa..

Second place Fenerbahce will play on Sunday while Bursaspor will host very good team Gazinatepsper on Saturday at home...

So, we might see a temporarily new leader in the league until Monday night!

But. Trabzonspor visit to Manisa won't be that pleasant....

Because, they are the third best team in the last six weeks in Turkey...

Lastly, Bursaspor is also playing against very good team , Gaziantepspor...

Who is second best team, after Fenerbahce, in the last six weeks...

Stay Tune......

TURKISH SUPER LEAGUE SUNDAY PREVIEW..

American Jozy Altidore made his debut in Turkey.......

American forward Jozy Altidore made his debut for Bursaspor in a 1-1 draw at Eskisehirspor in the Turkish Super league on Sunday.

Altidore came out in the second half of the match around 77th minute...

He was the creator of Bursaspor goal from midfield....

Watch the great move by Jozy Altidore and the play- maker and creator of Bursaspor's only goal here...

Bursaspor coach in the second half changed the formation on the field and kept only Kenny Miller on top and Altidore was more like defensive midfielder in the second half!

I think, Ertugrul Saglam, went to this formation very early to protect 1-0 score...

That was a huge mistake by him!

At the end, Bursaspor fell short and lost two important points in Eskisehir...

On Monday Fenerbahce have a chance to catch Bursaspor in the standings and capture the second place for the first time this season, if they beat Kayserispor at home....

On the other hand Kayserispor with a win could even up thier points with Fenerbahce (39 points)

So, Modnay night's match turn out to be the msot importnat match of the weekend!

If Fenerbahce wins, they will capture the second place for the first time, this season...

Again, just like Saturday on Sunday there were 12 goals scored in four matches....

Most shocking scores on Sunday were Besiktas going down in Ankara and Kasimpasa beating Karabuk!

With this loss, Besiktas's chase for the top is demolished !

Here is the Sunday results.....
