A HUGE WIN!...

Fatih Terim smiles after his team's 2-1 victory against Norway in the Euro 2008 qualifying soccer match in Oslo, Saturday, Nov. 17, 2007. (AP Photo/Kyrre Lien, SCANPIX NORWAY)

NOW WE HAVE THE ADVANTAGE...NOW DESTINY IN OUR HANDS!..

We have the advantage now, to join Greece at the Euro 2008 finals after coming from behind to defeat Norway 2-1 in Group C in Oslo and leave the Scandinavian side facing qualifying heartache.

that is the good part,,,,we must not forget we have one more game against Bosnia.

We must beat Bosnia in Istanbul too to do this...

I am very glad to see Turkish National team won....I am still cautious optimist about this team , looking at the future. I am also not happy with Fatih Terim the way he takes a shot at people after the matches.

He has a problem!.....that problem is not going to go way....He forgets this is the Turkish National Team , it is not just his team, it's the whole Turkiye's and all Turkish Soccer fans team!...

Let me be the first to give him the credit for last night's win, after he got us out of the mass, that he put it..

Here is what Fatih Terim told Reuters after the match "I want to thank the people that have supported us during these days. To the people who haven't supported us, I have nothing to say."

Is this the thing to say after a huge win?,,,,,, You decide!....

The Match..........

In foggy conditions, Norway went ahead in the 12th minute with a stunning overhead kick from defender Erik Hagen, but Turkiye equalised through Emre on 31 minutes before sealing victory with Nihat Kahveci's strike 14 minutes into the second half.Norway have not qualified for a major tournament since Euro 2000 and, after missing out in the play-offs for Euro 2004 and last summer's World Cup, they kicked off knowing victory would break that run.

Norway took the lead with a goal of real quality. Steffen Iversen flicked on a free-kick and Hagen, with his back to goal, controlled the ball on his chest before rifling an overhead kick into the roof of the net.

John Carew had a header saved as Norway searched for a second goal, although Turkiye remained dangerous and got back into the game on 31 minutes.Emre beat his man on the edge of the box, made space and blasted a dipping drive beyond Norway goalkeeper Hakon Opdal. Fatih Terim's men were now in the ascendancy and Hamit Altintop came close again with a long-range attempt on 40 minutes before Morten Gamst Pedersen was thwarted by goal keeper Volkan Demirel at the other end.Villarreal forward Nihat scored what proved to be the winner in the 59th minute, receiving the ball from substitute Gokhan Gonul before shooting past Opdal.

Turkiye will qualify if they defeat Bosnia at home on Wednesday. They are second in the group, one point above Norway who visit Malta with their fate out of their hands.

Everything at stake!...

We cannot afford to lose against Norway in Oslo and we must beat the Norwegians to take the maximum points.

A defeat would mark the end of qualifying bid, and a draw would be almost as bad. That would also mean that the boys of coach Fatih Terim team would need to beat Bosnia-Herzegovina at home on 21 November while hoping for a Norwegian slip in Malta to have any chance of progress.

FATIH TERIM:"We had planned to be four points clear of Norway at this stage but some unwanted results have put us in a different situation,"

Well, I am glad that Mr.Fatih Terim saw that!...Hello!....Are you wake!...

Since 4-1 win in Greece in March, we have won just one qualifier, thrashing Hungary 3-0 recently.

But on the other side, other results have included a 2-2 draw at Malta and a 1-1 tie in Chisinau against a spirited Moldova outfit. A 1-0 home defeat to Greece further compounded their woes.

"Anything is possible in football," said Terim. "We aim to win and will do everything to achieve that."

Well , Mr.Terim This is your last chance....Everything at stake!..

So,Turkiye's and yours destiny is in your hands......

We will be watching..........................

Norway confident ahead of Turkey Euro qualifier

Norway fancy their chances ahead of Saturday's Euro 2008 qualifier against injury-hit Turkey knowing a victory would secure a place in the finals.
Norway, having won four out of their last five qualifiers with tireless, aggressive performances, would also guarantee a berth with a draw followed by a win in Malta next week.

Turkey trail Norway by two points in Group C, which is led by already-qualified European Champions Greece, and know defeat in Oslo would end their qualifying hopes.

Norway will rely on towering striker John Carew and players from in-form Champions League side Rosenborg after captain and midfielder Martin Andresen was ruled out by a knee injury.

Steffen Iversen, who scored twice for Rosenborg against Valencia this month, is set to start up front with Carew. Both players have scored four goals in the Euro 2008 qualifiers.

Ghana-born Alexander Tettey is expected to get his second cap in place of Andersen and possibly share the midfield with Rosenborg team mate Per Ciljan Skjelbred.

Norway often succeed by controlling midfield with swarming, aggressive play, and capitalise on the occasional through ball.

"We are very difficult to beat, we work very hard and play wise football," defender John Arne Riise said. "Other teams may be more technical but we work harder."

Turkey coach Fatih Terim will have to cope without key midfielder Yildiray Basturk, who has a groin strain, and is likely to turn to some untried players.

"We have played a lot of matches like this and come through. I trust and believe in my players," Terim said.

Turkey defender Deniz Baris is having treatment for back pains while striker Serhat Akin is suffering from flu.

From the five uncapped players in his squad, Terim is likely to start with defenders Gokhan Gonul and Hayrettin Yerlikaya, while Semih Senturk is expected to play up front.

"The Norway game can be described as a do-or-die match," Senturk told reporters. "We have more quality than Norway and if we go on to the pitch believing in ourselves we can win."

Turkey drew 2-2 at home to Norway in March after visiting goalkeeper Thomas Myhre, since dropped from the team, let a free kick run through his legs to give the Turks a late equaliser.

Probable teams:
Norway: Haakon Opdal, Jarl-Andre Storbaek, Erik Hagen, Brede Hangeland, John Arne Riise, Bjoern Helge Riise, Alexander Tettey, Christian Grindheim, Steffen Iversen, John Carew, Morten Gamst Pedersen

Turkey: Volkan Demirel, Gokhan Gonul, Servet Cetin, Emre Asik, Hayrettin Yerlikaya, Tuncay Sanli, Emre Belozoglu, Mehmet Aurelio, Hamit Altintop, Nihat Kahveci, Semih Senturk

WHAT IS FATIH TERIM TRYING TO DO?.....

Really, Is Fatih Terim, OK?... I thought he was building a team for 2010 World Cup Tournament....
That was his own words when he took the job from Ersun Yanal.
There is very two important matches in front of him and he called up six uncapped players in his 24-man squad for the final two Euro 2008 qualifiers away against Norway on Nov. 17 and at home against Bosnia four days later. There is one player who is 32 years old,his name is Yusuf Simsek, plays for Denizlispor as a play maker, called up by Fatih Terim after Midfielder Mehmet Topuz was put on injury list.
The other uncapped five players are, defenders -- Sedat Bayrak, Ibrahim Kas, Gokhan Gonul and Hayrettin Yerlikaya and striker Semih Senturk from Fenerbahce.Do you ever think , Turkey will beat Norway, with this kind of thinking!... The man(Fatih Terim), is just not confident with him self and obviously with the National Team. He has reshuffled the team in every match that he coached. In the latest injury news, Fatih Tekke will not play against Norway due to Injury.Looking at the roster, There is a lot of new names and players like Tuncay Sanli who is the worst transfer in England according to British Media and looking at the forwards, there is Nihat Serbetci and in the midfield Yildiray Basturk , if he is healty, he will make a difference ,along with Hamit Altintop and Emre Belezoglu. The cold weather will be big factor for Turkish National team.
So, Fatih Terim's Reshuffled and the team without future vision, going to play very hard match in Norway, This will be do or die match for Turkish National Team and Mr. Fatih Terim.
Squad:
Goalkeepers: Rustu Recber (Besiktas), Volkan Demirel (Fenerbahce), Serkan Kirintili (Ankaragucu)
Defenders: Servet Cetin (Galatasaray), Hayrettin Yerlikaya (Sivasspor), Sedat Bayrak (Sivasspor), Deniz Baris (Fenerbahce), Gokhan Gonul (Fenerbahce), Ibrahim Kas (Besiktas), Emre Asik (Ankaraspor)
Midfielders: Arda Turan (Galatasaray), Mehmet Aurelio (Fenerbahce), Yusuf Simsek (Denizlispor), Gokdeniz Karadeniz (Trabzonspor), Hamit Altintop (Bayern Munich), Emre Belozoglu (Newcastle United), Yildiray Basturk (Stuttgart), Tuncay Sanli (Middlesbrough)
Forwards: Hakan Kadir Balta (Galatasaray), Mehmet Yildiz (Sivasspor), Semih Senturk (Fenerbahce), Nihat Kahveci (Villarreal), Serhat Niyazi Akin (RSC Anderlecht).
