A hat trick by attacking midfielder Tuncay Sanli powered Turkey to a 4-2 comeback win over Austria in a friendly match Wednesday.
Andreas Hoelzl score both goals for the hosts, who looked good for much of the first half before gradually losing control of the game to the European Championship semifinalists.
Hoelzl headed in his first goal in the 28th minute after Austria worked the ball forward from deep inside its own half. But Turkey leveled when Mehmet Aurelio collected a pass and beat Austria goalkeeper Michael Gspurning from 10 meters (yards) in the 37th, and Tuncay made it 2-1 just four minutes later.
Tuncay extended Turkey's lead in the 47th, lifting the ball over Gspurning.
Hoelzl pulled a goal back for Austria in the 53rd minute with a powerful shot into the top corner, but Tuncay put the result beyond doubt with a lob eight minutes later.
