TURKISH NATIONAL TEAM TAKES A BIG JUMP IN FIFA RANKINGS!

Turkish National Soccer Team climbs up 12 spots in FIFA rankings

Two back to back wins in the EURO 2008 qualifiers last week helped Turkish National Team to climb a remarkable 12 places to 16th spot in the FIFA rankings for November that was released Friday. Turkey is on 924 points and became the second biggest mover in the top 25, following Bulgaria who soared 16 places to 18th.

Argentina remained No. 1 in the rankings with 1,523 points despite its surprise World Cup qualifying loss to Colombia, while Brazil and Italy made up ground. Brazil remained in second place but gained 43 points to reach 1,502 while world champion Italy was third with 1,498. Spain moved up two places to fourth. Germany stayed fifth with the Czech Republic jumping three spots to sixth and France, beaten finalist at the World Cup in Germany last year, falling three places to seventh. England, who failed to qualify for next summer's European Championships, slipped one place to 12th. The Netherlands' slide continued as well, with Marco van Basten's team slipping two spots for the second month in a row to ninth.
